23rd March 2010On Sunday 21st March 2010 PPA Energy entered a team in the Sport Relief mile in Guildford Surrey. Sport Relief is a national fundraising event, raising money for disadvantaged people both in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries. Projects include programmes to help children who live on the street and work in dangerous conditions, helping those affected by malaria by supplying mosquito nets and local UK projects.
In 2008 PPA Energy entered a team to run one mile. This year, our team completed a three mile run in an estimated time of 25 minutes. The PPA team comprised runners and supporters. So far our team has raised £465 in sponsorship. Nationally, Sport Relief has raised over £31 million this year.
PPA Energy hopes to enter a team in the next Sport Relief event, which will be in 2012, to complete a six mile run.
