Craig Lucas is responsible for Marketing and Business Development in PPA Energy.  Craig is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Masters Degree in Electricity Industry Management and Technology, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunications Networks and Systems. 

He has worked in the rail, electricity and telecommunications sectors in a range of business development, engineering and senior management roles. He commenced his career in the rail industry, specialising in electrification.  Subsequently Craig moved to a variety of management positions in a multinational energy utility including working in the areas of electricity network planning and asset management.  This gave him responsibility for design and network planning, research and development, and subsequently business development of unregulated business opportunities. 

His technical specialism is in the design and planning of medium and low voltage electricity networks, and he has also had a range of experience in the design and operation of traction power systems, including acting as lead design engineer for a major D.C. electrification project in the UK.

Craig set up and ran the engineering and operations division of a telecommunications company. He spent two years living and working in Latin America and speaks fluent Portuguese.

Recent projects for PPA Energy have ranged from assisting the Angolan Ministry of Energy with the procurement of new transmission infrastructure, as part of extensions to the Angolan electricity grid, and leading the regulatory, financial and economic workstreams for a feasibility study to create an offshore grid linking renewable resources to Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
