Project Description:
Flexnet is the successor to the Supergen FutureNet programme and builds on the achievements of FutureNet, laying out the major steps - technical, economic, market design, public acceptance and others - that will lead to flexible networks. Flexnet aims to showcase these developments in order to allow the commercial sector, Government and Regulators practical implementation of its work.
Description of Services Provided:
PPA Energy provided key strategic input to the design of the programme, assisting with professional project inception, funding and strategic direction, and acting as overall project co-ordinator. PPA Energy played the lead role in putting together the research consortium's successful £7.0m funding bid to the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). PPA Energy has an ongoing role in the programme management of the consortium's activities and in organising FlexNet conferences and outreach events.
