Project Description:
PPA Energy is engaged in a collaborative project with contributions from major suppliers, universities, and UK and international network operators including EDF and National Grid. The programme includes techno-economic evaluation of smart grid technologies for increasing capacity in cable routes, compact substations and power electronics. It provides options for DC networks that will be necessary in a decarbonised world with increased city populations, ever more congestion, and with electricity as the main energy vector.
