Project Description:

PPA Energy has been engaged by the Energy Networks Association (ENA), in a consortium led by PB, to undertake a study into the 2030 Distribution System in Great Britain.  The study is to undertake detailed electrical power system analysis (using nodal network models) of the electricity system of 2030, with particular focus on the distribution networks, their design and, critically, their operation.  The study is formally under the governance of Work Stream 7 (WS7) of the Smart Grid Forum.

Description of Services:

PPA Energy are undertaking the following activities:

  •  Development of modelling use cases
  •  Research on the international perspective
  •  Contributing to answering a set of questions, defined at the outset of the study
  •  Identifying potential new or changed activities necessary to allow successful operation of the 2030 distribution system

They also have a "challenge and review" role, and are involved in stakeholder engagement sessions.
